Capitals star center Nicklas Backstrom scored his 100th NHL career goal during the second period of Friday night’s contest against the Buffalo Sabres.

“It’s a good feeling,” Backstrom told reporters when asked to comment on his goal. He also agreed that it was even better that his 100th goal came with a win. “It’s always fun to score.”

“I’ve been waiting a couple games for it,” Backstrom said, “It’s a great milestone.”
