Ovechkin Suspended Three Games

Announced tonight, Alex Ovechkin has been suspended for three games after his hit on Zbynek Michalek this Sunday.

As of now, it is still unknown if Ovechkin will decide to play in the All-Star game or not. Though, something tells me he won’t.

For a full explanation for Ovi’s suspension, watch the video above.

While it should come as no surprise that Ovi faced some kind of discipline for his hit, it is surprising though that Michalek faced none whatsoever for his elbow to Matt Hendrick’s head.

Something just isn’t right here, and I’m not saying that from the viewpoint of a Caps fan. I expected the Ovechkin suspension, honestly he deserves what he got. But I also expected at least a fine for Michalek. Come on, an elbow to the dome and he gets nothing? And they say they want to eliminate headshots.
